Gandhinagar : The valedictory ceremony of the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit took place at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar. During the closing session of this three-day summit, attended by numerous presidents, diplomats, and business leaders from both India and abroad, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah said that while the first of Amrit Kaal and the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gujarat has physically concluded, the resolutions made during this summit represent a remarkable achievement and empowerment. He noted that since the inaugural summit in 2003, it has strengthened the path of “Sankalp Thi Siddhi” (determination to accomplishment). Union Home Minister stated that today, India stands as the foremost choice globally for manufacturing and investment, with Gujarat being the preferred destination within India.

Shri Amit Shah said that when Shri Narendra Modi took the helm of the country, India was ranked 11th in the economy, and today it holds the fifth position globally. He expressed certainty that India will soon be ranked amongst the top 3 in the world. The G-20 summit, held under India’s chairmanship, had the mantra of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future,’ and India is proud to emerge as a global friend with the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ he remarked.

Referring to Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary on January 12th, the Union Home Minister emphasized that by realizing the power and determination of Swami Vivekananda, India is confidently emerging with many new dimensions in the world today.

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit has proven to be a platform for new ideas and innovation. Gujarat has successfully attracted global investments in a result-oriented manner, setting an example for many states in the country. Shri Amit Shah expressed confidence that various states following this path will achieve new milestones.

Acknowledging the summit held in Gujarat under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel as a grand success, Shri Amit Shah said, “Gujarat has become the gateway to ‘Viksit Bharat.’ The participation of 4 heads of state, representatives from 100 countries, and 16 country partners is a success story in itself. Shri Narendra Modi’s idea of GIFT City in 2007 has flourished, and Dholera (SIR) has proved critics wrong, with Mandal Becharaji emerging as an auto hub, and investments increasing in Gujarat due to the construction of Petrochemical in Dahej, Bulk Drug Park in Bharuch, and BioTechnology Park in Vadodara.”

He highlighted that Shri Narendra Modi has adopted structural reforms, leading to increased performance and the transformation of the economy. Gujarat once considered a dark spot on the world map, is now known as a vibrant spot. Due to corruption-free governance, a peaceful environment, and transparent governance, Gujarat has become the preferred choice for investors worldwide. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who tackled policy paralysis, Gujarat has become a policy-driven state.

He further emphasized that India is now a leader in the futuristic economy, pioneering in emerging fields like semiconductors, green technology, and biofuels. The credit goes to the state government of Gujarat for making policies result-oriented on the ground.

In the future, India aims to become the education hub of the world, with policies focused on both the health and education sectors. India is also leading in the fields of electric vehicles and the Green Hydrogen mission. The space sector, which had an investment of $9 billion at one time, is expected to reach $40 billion by 2040, he added.

In the closing ceremony of the tenth edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel proudly said that the successfully concluded first Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit of Amrit Kaal has transformed into a convergence for the business community, thought leaders, and policymakers from both the country and the world, centring on inclusive growth and sustainable development. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the success of this summit has incrementally expanded in both its momentum and scale over two decades. The embodiment of the concept “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” – ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ has been achieved through the engaged participation of nations from across the globe.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel expressed that the 10th edition of the Vibrant Summit will function as a golden gateway, ensuring the future prosperity of India and actualizing the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047, as envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

CM stated that the summit, held under the theme “Gateway to the Future,” has emerged as an inspiration for emerging sectors of the new era, including semiconductors, renewable energy, green hydrogen, electric vehicles (EV), aerospace, and defence equipment manufacturing.

Furthermore, CM highlighted that Gujarat has implemented the concept of green growth presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by signing 50% of the total MoUs signed in the summit in the field of green hydrogen and renewable energy.

CM also stated that in this 10th summit, following the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Gujarat has embraced a new initiative titled “Vibrant Gujarat-Vibrant District.” This initiative aims to provide a platform for the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) industries across the 32 districts, fostering growth with the ethos of “Vocal for Local.” The MSME sector, pivotal to the state’s industrial development, has garnered renewed vigour through the success achieved in each Vibrant Summit.

Shri Parshottam Rupala, Union Cabinet Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy

Union Minister Shri Parshottam Rupala said that the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit will act as a pivotal moment in development, aspiring for Gujarat to surpass all developmental boundaries and become the leading state. He acknowledged the significant success of Jammu and Kashmir’s representation in the summit, stating that this Vibrant Summit is the finest endeavour to unlock the doors to the state’s golden future. Industrialists and representatives from both domestic and international sectors who participated in the success of Gujarat’s Vibrant Summit have expressed confidence in Gujarat’s peace, security, and the business-friendly initiatives of the state government. Consequently, Gujarat has become a recognized hub for investors. He also stated that the credit for Gujarat’s success has been attributed to the vision, motivational leadership, and guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He emphasized the substantial developmental opportunities inherent in Gujarat’s extensive coastal fisheries sector. Additionally, he extended a formal invitation to industrialists, urging them to actively consider investments in this promising sector.

Shri Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir

In his address at the closing ceremony, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, remarked that the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit has evolved into a robust platform for investors and the business world. Leaders from India and around the globe eagerly anticipate the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. He added that the summit has been instrumental in creating new investment opportunities across the country, paving the way for industrial development.

Highlighting the positive transformation and progress in Jammu and Kashmir under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the concerted efforts of Union Minister of Home Affairs and Co-operation Shri Amit Shah, he mentioned that the state’s new industrial policy has attracted an investment of Rs 90,000 crore in a short period. During the summit, more than Rs 3,000 crore worth of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) have been signed between the investors and Industry and Commerce Department, Jammu and Kashmir.

In the past, India was renowned as the ‘Sone Ki Chidiya (Golden Bird),’ not solely due to its physical wealth, but also owing to its rich educational institutions, research activities, and the discoveries of various products. He added that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has implemented the new education policy, recognizing the power of education, which will play a pivotal role in making India economically prosperous and powerful in the times to come.

World Bank Country Director for India Auguste Tano Kouamé

World Bank Country Director for India, Mr Auguste Tano Kouamé, highlighted the success of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit in his speech, stating, “Gujarat is the Meeting Point of the World.” He emphasized that Gujarat is not only a leading state in India but is, in fact, a leader itself, contributing to India’s status as the fastest-growing economy globally. Mr. Kouamé also pointed out that India holds the position of the world’s largest developing economy.

Gujarat has opportunities, and Gujarat is developing faster than the national average. Gujarat will lead to contribute in making India a Viksit Bharat in the next 25 years. Gujarat welcomes everyone to establish industries. He called Gift City and Vibrant Summit the best gift that Gujarat has given to the world. He said that India is the World Bank’s largest client and Gujarat is an important state associated with us.

Erik Solheim, the president of the Green Hydrogen Institute, a Norwegian green hydrogen development plant, remarked, “I have attended many G-20 summits, but there is no other country as vibrant as India.” He further stated, “I am sure that India will soon become a Viksit Bharat in which Gujarat is playing an important role.” Mr Solheim emphasized that India’s primary focus should be on areas such as the digital revolution and renewable energy to achieve developed status.

He noted that Gujarat, not only being the birthplace of leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, and Narendra Modi but also embracing inclusive development by prioritizing citizen-centric development, is a significant aspect. Mr Solheim highlighted that this commitment to development while keeping citizens at the centre is a noteworthy achievement for Gujarat.

Torrent Group Chairman, Shri Sudhir Mehta, expressed great pride in being a part of and witnessing the growth of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. He referred to the summit as a significant event in the global business calendar. Mehta highlighted that today, Gujarat has solidified its position as India’s growth engine under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He also acknowledged the leading role played by Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah in the industrial development of Gujarat.

Gujarat, according to Mr. Mehta, has implemented industry-friendly initiatives, such as the abolition of octroi and the revival of the cooperative sector. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, the state government has formulated numerous progressive policies and institutionalized ease of doing business to attract investments. Mr. Mehta added that the Torrent Group is committed to contributing its best to nation-building. As part of this commitment, Torrent Group signed an MoU worth ₹48,000 crores with the Government of Gujarat.

On this occasion, Shri Prasad Panicker, Chairman and Head of Refinery of Nayara Energy said that the success of Vibrant Gujarat is evidence of the prudency of the Prime Minister. To make a bigger impact, the first step has to be big. Gujarat has always been at the forefront in comparison to other states in terms of development, sustainability, and clarity of policy, Moreover, it also gives importance to leadership. Most of the MoUs signed in this summit are about areas like emerging technology and green industries which adds to the success of this event. Expressing his happiness that Nayara has invested hugely in the state of Gujarat he said that more than 80% of the investment is done in the state of Gujarat out of the total planned investment.

Chairman of Welspun Group Shri B.K. Goenka congratulated Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and Team Gujarat for the successful organization of this summit and expressed his happiness that Welspun Group has been a part of Vibrant Gujarat since the beginning. He further said that the seeds that were planted by the Prime Minister many years ago are reaping rewards today. This Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit provides an opportunity to dream big and set higher goals. On this occasion Shri B.K. Goenka also informed about the MoUs signed worth Rs. 40,000 crore in the green energy and plastic sector.

During the concluding ceremony of the summit Shri Pankaj Patel, Chairman of Zydus Lifesciences said that 20 years ago the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit was a dream, which today has proved to be an important step in the development journey of the state as well as the country. Over the past two decades, the summit has become an important platform for growth and generating employment where it has become a medium to promote dialogue and collaboration with global organizations, strategy makers, and entrepreneurs. He further said that the Vibrant Gujarat Summit has provided the resources and assembled a reputation for establishing Gujarat as a preferred destination for investment, not only nationally but globally as well.

Expressing pride for being Gujarati Shri Pankaj Patel said that Zydus Group has signed MoUs worth Rs 5000 crore in biotech products, hospitals, and healthcare including medical devices.

During the beginning of the closing ceremony of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit-2024, the Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Mines Department Shri S. J. Haider while in his presentation on the highlights of the 10th Vibrant Summit said that 35 countries joined as partners countries in this first summit of Amrit Kaal in which the heads of four countries namely UAE, Mozambique, Czech Republic and Timor-Leste, more than 40 ministers including the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, more than 61,000 delegates from more than 140 countries participated in this summit. This summit witnessed a total of 1,31,943 registrations out of which 3590 were foreign delegates. He further said that the Vibrant Summit and the country’s biggest trade show was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also released a commemorative coin of Rs 20, a postal stamp, and an e-coffee table book during the inauguration of the Gujarat Global Trade Show. More than 150 seminars and programs were held with context to this summit. All the themes of the G-20 were covered during this summit. The summit primarily focused on Green MoUs and held special seminars on Renewable Energy, EVs, Green Hydrogen, Semiconductors, etc.

A short film showcasing the achievements of Vibrant Gujarat 2024 was presented during the closing ceremony of the first Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 of Amrit Kaal. On this occasion, a book depicting the 20-year success story of Vibrant Gujarat was released by dignitaries.
