80 kilowatts solar plant set up at Bar Association office
AMBALA: The Haryana state cabinet minister, Anil Vij, on Wednesday inaugurated 80 kilowatts (kW) solar power plant in the premises of Ambala bar association office. The plant has been set up with voluntary funds of Rs 25 lakh given by the minister.
With this solar plant, the electricity problem of the bar office has been resolved permanently. The plant has also reduced the office’s dependence on power supply.
While congratulating the bar association, the minister said, “Solar energy is the biggest requirement of the time. The resources to generate electricity with coal and water are not only limited but also expensive. As a source, solar energy is unlimited and harnessing it is economical.
“For the fulfillment of power requirements, solar power has been made compulsory for all government buildings and private commercial establishments in the state. Today, a lot of people are willingly to utilize this green way to generating power.”
“The government is also giving various rebates on adopting solar energy in domestic, commercial and agricultural setups,” he added
President of the bar association Umrish Gandhi, said, “With the adoption of the solar power, the bar association will save on monthly electricity bills.”
“The money saved will be spent on the welfare of the members of the association. I thank the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam for their support in establishing the solar power,” Gandhi added.
