NTPC the largest power utility of the country commissioned 2255 MW this financial year through its Koldam unit 3 and 4 – 400 MW in Himachal , Bongaigaon unit 1-250 MW in Assam, Vindhyachal unit 13 – 500MW in Madhya Pradesh, BRBCL Nabinagar unit 1 – 250 MW in Bihar, Kanti unit 3 – 195 MW in Bihar, Mouda unit 3-660 MW in Maharashtra. NTPC’s total installed capacity has touched 46653 MW.

With this, NTPC has added 9639 MW in the current plan till date which is the highest ever capacity addition in a five year plan period ( 2012- 2017) by the company. NTPC had added 9610 MW during the last plan period.NTPC has 18 coal based, 7 gas based, 8 solar renewable, one Hydro and 8 Subsidiaries / Joint Venture power stations.With over 23,000 MW capacity under different phases of completion at present, NTPC aims at generation capacity of 128 GW by the year 2032 with a lot more focus on renewable energy
