Wallmart stores in US to offer public electric vehicle charging stations
Wallmart and Electrify America will open 120 plus ultra-fast electric vehicle charging stations for public across US.
Washington: Wallmart and Electrify America have come up with a collaboration to provide the electric vehicle owners in US relief. Under this patnership, there will be more than 120 Wallmart stores across US with electric vehicle charging stations, set up by Electrify America. These EV charging stations are already operational and will be open for public soon.
The project originally began in April 2018 and these two companies are planning to expand the network further in the coming years. In that case, more Wallmart stores across the country will come up with electric vehicle charging stations.
The collaboration between Wallmart and Electrify America is a part of the latter one’s strategy to help promote zero-emission mobility by offering ultra-fast and convenient charging infrastructure to the public. These electric vehicle charging stations will be strategically located at places with access to retail, dining, parking and other facilities.
These charging stations are equipped with 150 kW and 350 kW DC fast chargers. Electrify America has planned to invest USD 2 billion over the next 10 years to build electric vehicle infrastructure. It aims to set up 2,000 EV chargers across 484 sites in 17 metropolitan areas and on highways as well.
