Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy in 622 billion debt

Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Mahindananda Aluthgamage told the media that the Ministry of Power and Renwable Energy had become one of the most corrupt institutions during the last four years, to the extent that the Ministry has incurred a loss of 622 billion.
He revealed that the unit price of electricity was only Rs. 32 but former Minister Ravi Karunanayake had told cabinet that it was Rs. 72. The unit price of Solar Power is Rs.12 but the government had instead charged Rs. 22.
