First Solar to supply 415 MW of Series 6 modules to Geronimo Energy
US thin-film photovoltaics (PV) maker First Solar Inc (NASDAQ:FSLR) has signed a framework agreement with Geronimo Energy for the supply of Series 6 modules with a combined direct current (DC) capacity of 415 MW.
The deliveries under this new deal will be made in 2022.
The latest agreement brings to more than 1.4 GW DC the systems and module technology sales agreed between the two companies to date.
Geronimo Energy, which was acquired by National Grid last summer, is a Minneapolis, Minnesota-based renewable energy firm with more than 2.4 GW of wind and solar parks in operation or under construction.
In October 2019, First Solar opened a Series 6 modules factory in Ohio and now has 1.9 GW DC of annual production capacity in the US alone. It also has facilities in Vietnam and Malaysia, with a global annual Series 6 manufacturing capacity of 5.5 GW DC.
