MSME Min exploring tech to operate charkha on solar energy
Union Minister Giriraj Singh recently said the MSME Ministry is exploring the possibility of using solar power for operating charkha.”The efforts of the ministry are on to develop a technology which will enable operation of charkha with the help of solar energy,” the Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) said while addressing a meeting at Thane Small Scale Industries Association (TSSIA) here.
Singh said in Khadi industries charkha has attained extreme importance and it is being extensively used.”Even now a lot of yarn is spun with charkha’s help and the cloth is exported to various countries,” the minister said.According to Singh, MSMEs have a major contribution towards country’s economy as they generate more employment in lesser investment.Thane MP Rajan Vichare and MLA Sanjay Kelkar were present on the occasion.
