A new poll released by the San Diego Union-Tribune listed locally-based Sullivan Solar Power as the top solar power company in San Diego. San Diego is home to one of the most competitive solar industries globally, and this year saw 12 of the leading solar companies in the industry nominated for the award. The winner was determined by popular vote, with Sullivan Solar Power coming out on top as the top solar power company in the region.
“In San Diego, we are blessed with an abundance of sunshine and policies that allow solar to be much more financially attractive for local homeowners and businesses than throwing away money sticking with a dirty utility,” said Daniel Sullivan, president and founder of Sullivan Solar Power. “Sullivan Solar Power appreciates our clients and the community for voting us San Diego’s Best Solar Company. We look forward to helping more San Diego families dump fossil fuels and fulfill our mission to fundamentally change the way our world generates electricity.”
Founded in 2004 by San Diego native Daniel Sullivan, Sullivan Solar Power has grown from a one-man shop operating out of a garage with only $2,500 in the bank to one of the top solar firms in the United States. Sullivan also recently received recognition from Inc. Magazine and the San Diego Business Journal on their respective fastest-growing companies lists for the seventh consecutive year.
Sullivan Solar Power’s work includes residential, commercial and municipal solar projects and electric vehicle charging installations across Southern California, including projects for some of the most significant organizations in the region. Sullivan Solar Power’s portfolio includes solar projects for San Diego State University, UC San Diego, Port of San Diego, Port of Long Beach, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar as well as many churches, schools and municipalities. Overall, the company has designed, installed and monitors more than 5,300 systems totaling more than 39 megawatts.
“Our mission is to provide best-in-class quality, expertise and service, creating solar advocates to build a movement – one community at a time – that will change the way this world generates electricity,” said Sullivan. “Our aim is to set the highest possible standards for the entire industry to follow, while using our business to prove that solar works. Our job is not complete until we turn everyone we touch into a solar advocate.”
Sullivan Solar Power only selects suppliers that believe in their mission and purpose. The local solar firm is also one of only six companies in California to achieve the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Company Accreditation – the gold standard for professional certification in the solar industry.
Sullivan Solar Power also recently announced a partnership with the San Diego Center for Children, the city’s oldest and leading nonprofit serving children and families. As part of the partnership, Sullivan Solar Power is donating $500 to the Center for every San Diego family that goes solar with Sullivan Solar Power through the end of 2016. The partnership will allow the Center to further its mission and support a brighter future San Diego.
