Vestas Wind Systems A/S, the biggest wind turbine maker, said it plans to build a new blade factory in India as it seeks to expand its presence in the Asian nation.
The plan was included in the Danish manufacturer’s third-quarter earnings report recently. Chief executive officer Anders Runevad said on a conference call with analysts that the plan is to build it next year at a cost of about €50 million ($54 million).
“Once completed, the factory will support Vestas’ operations in the Indian market as well as potentially servicing activities in other markets,” Vestas said.
