According to the offer maximum subsidy on DC pump up to 2 HP is Rs 57,600 while from 2 HP to 5 HP Rs 54,000 and in AC Pumps the 2 HP limit Rs 50,400 and between 2 HP to 5 HP power limit Rs 43,200 subsidy is available.

Targeting optimum use of new and renewal energy in agriculture sector the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development has initiated a unique Solar Irrigation Pump Scheme. The first pump under this scheme sanctioned for a farmer in Patan development. “The pump would be first of its kind in Jabalpur district being used for irrigation purposed replacing the conventional fuel operated irrigation pumps like diesel or electricity powered water pumping systems. The use of Solar powered irrigation pump would not only reduce use of conventional fuels while also help in reducing pollution level besides this it would be a solution for electricity reach for irrigation”, said Sandeep Dharkar, District Development Manager, NABARD while talking to The Hitavada.

Availability of power grid in far-flung villages is still requires expansion. The Solar Power pumps have been designed in such a manner that it requires less maintenance and environment friendly. The available grid power is not available in adequate amount and time for majority of villages. Besides diesel sets and its fuel is getting costlier making farming expensive and out of reach of common farmers. The Solar pumps lowers cost of electricity as well as become easy source for electricity generation at the locations where it required.

NABARD DDM, Dharkar informed that encouraging farmers to opt solar power irrigation systems the Government of India Ministry of New and Renewal Energy in association with NABARD has initiated banking finance and capital subsidy. The government has targeted installation of 30,000 pumps every year. The scheme is opened since year 2014. The scheme has credit linked back ended subsidy. Dharkar added that in Jabalpur division the first Solar pump would soon be operational in Patan and would be the first or pilot project of Solar powered irrigation in the district.
