Solar lights for efficient use of renewable energy
Phek, September 20 (MExN): Solar street lights were installed by Phek Forest Division in Lanyezho Village as an ‘Entry Point Activity’ for the community with an aim to protect forest and wildlife and also to raise awareness on efficient use of renewable energy.
Many varieties of fruiting and fast growing species were planted during this season around an area of 10 Ha under FDA Regular. The Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC) and Village council has been implementing the Forest Resolution passed by the council and also cautioned and reminded the village community and neighbouring villages to abide by the objectives of the Resolution.
A press note stated that the village council, JFMC and the community thanked the Forest Department particularly DFO Phek, Rongsenlemla Imchen IFS for showing confidence in the villagers and also appreciated her effort and dedication. They also acknowledged ACF Phek Range and the staffs for their constant support and guidance. The community asserted that they would continue to cooperate with Forest Department so as to fulfil the objectives with regard to conservation of forests and livelihood security.
