Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India has issued a notice to Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) regarding clarification on implementation of Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) of Solar Photovoltaic Modules Order, 2019.
The notice clarifies that modules procured for the projects on which ALMM order is application should have been included in ALMM List-I valid on the date of invoicing of such modules.
MNRE issued Approved Models and Manufacturers of Solar Photovoltaic Modules (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2019 to ensure the reliability of Solar PV manufacturers, protect consumer interests and ensure larger energy security of the country.
The order provides for the enlistment of eligible models and manufacturers of solar PV cells and modules that comply with the BIS Standards. The same is published in the list called ALMM.
Only the ones mentioned in the ALMM list are eligible for use in Government, Government-assisted projects and projects under Government schemes.
MNRE published the first list of manufacturers and models of Solar PV modules under ALMM Order on its official website on March 10, 2021. The enlistment is valid for two years from the date of enlistment which can be renewed on submission of necessary documents according to the procedure mentioned in the guidelines issued by the Ministry.
The list is uploaded on the website of the ministry and updated monthly. MNRE is empowered to conduct production and sale audit, random quality test and inspection of the facility at any time in order to ensure compliance.
