“Provisionally, as of the end of August 2016, overall UK solar PV capacity stood at 11,034 MW across 886,523 installations. This is an increase of 30% (2,560 MW) compared to August 2015. Provisionally, August 2016 saw 29 MW (3,132 installations) worth of solar PV capacity being deployed throughout the month, with the main drivers (41% of capacity) being medium 50 kW to ≤ 5 MW schemes in Great Britain. This figure is likely to be revised – see the revisions section below for further details.

To date, 49% (5,461 MW) of total installed solar PV capacity comes from large scale installations greater than 5 MW, with 22% (2,430 MW) coming from small scale 0 to 4 kW installations. At the end of June 2016 (end Quarter 2), 53% of capacity (5,669 MW) came from ground-mounted or standalone solar installations.

Within the last 12 months, the largest increase in capacity occured in March 2016 (1,017 MW), just before the RO was closed to (non grace period) 50 kW to ≤ 5 MW installations and before the final closure of the RO to grace period > 5 MW sites. Of the increase in capacity seen that month, 59% (602 MW) was seen in > 5 MW installations.”
