Ford Motor Company has acquired California-based electric vehicle (EV) charging management and fleet monitoring software provider Electriphi.
Electriphi’s team and services will be integrated into Ford Pro, the global business arm of the American automaker focused on charging and energy management as well as commercial customer productivity.
This acquisition supports Ford Pro’s goal to capture over US$1 billion in revenue from charging by 2030. The automaker estimates that 600,000 full-size trucks and vans will be needing charging by 2030.
The move comes in the wake of two electric Ford launches this year, being the F-150 Lightning pickup and the E-Transit van (pictured).
