NCR’s Kanpur electric loco shed saving ₹2.1 lac with solar day pipe lights – EQ Mag Pro
LUCKNOW: Kanpur electric loco shed of North Central railway is annually saving Rs 2.1 lakh on power bills after introducing Solar Day Pipe Lights (SDPL)
SDPL ensures availability of optimum sunlight and minimize the use of electric lights during day working hours. It not only illuminate the otherwise inaccessible or dimly lit areas, but also improve the working environment without generating excessive heat.
CPRO NCR Shivam Sharma said, ” With the installation of SDPL in 6,870 sqm area of Kanpur electric loco shed, there is no requirement of electricity generated illumination. Complete 100% illumination is done through sunlight only. The design of SDPL is such that for next 25-years there is no need for maintenance. Further, it reduces 20 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions and reject heat up to 95% and UV radiation.”
Meanwhile, Agra division is launching “One Station- One hundred trees Campaign”. Under this, 100 trees will be planted at all stations of Agra division over a period of one week. NCR zone has planted 10.36 lakh trees in 2021-2022 period, including 4.5 lakh in Prayagraj division, 2.6 lakh in Jhansi and 3.1. Lakh in Agra division.
