Hyderabad: GHMC and HMDA to come up with 330 EV charging stations soon – EQ Mag Pro
There will soon be 330 EV charging stations available in Hyderabad, with 230 proposed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and 100 proposed by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has suggested 230 EV charging stations, and the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has proposed 100 charging stations, throughout their respective jurisdictions to reduce carbon emissions by promoting the usage of electric vehicles.
The Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TSREDCO), the nodal organisation for setting up charging stations inside the State, is hosting TSEV – Telangana’s first electric mobility awareness web platform, which the State government just launched to promote the usage of EVs.
According to an agreement between GHMC, HMDA, and TSREDCO the facilities will be installed on a revenue-sharing model. Both a high-speed charging facility and a standard charging facility will be available at each station. “The cost of charging was decided as Rs 18 kilowatt per hour (kWh), but the prices will be revised,” said an official from the TSREDCO.
In addition to this, the State government introduced a policy for EV manufacturers and is encouraging them to set up their facilities in Telangana in order to further boost the number of electric vehicles, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, cars, and buses.
There are currently 150 EV charging stations in the city, with the majority of them being close to gas stations, railroad stations, and other amenities.
