TRC Companies Inc. acquires Blue Oak Energy – EQ Mag Pro
WINDSOR, Conn. : Today TRC Companies (“TRC”), a company built to help lead the energy transition for its clients, announces the expansion of its renewable energy capabilities with the acquisition of Blue Oak Energy, a firm that specializes in engineering for commercial and utility-scale photovoltaic (PV), commonly known as solar, and solar energy storage projects.
Over the past 17 years, this team of seasoned engineers, designers and consultants has delivered over 6 Gigawatts (GW) of solar projects through permit and construction and supported over 12 GW’s of solar projects through development.

Based in Sacramento, California, Blue Oak’s engineers are licensed in over 30 states, supporting long-term clients nationwide including utilities, municipalities, developers/Independent Power Producers (IPPs), and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) firms.
On average, TRC supports more than 1,000 renewable energy projects annually for hundreds of solar, wind, hydro and storage clients. TRC’s integrated solutions address all phases of development including site selection and evaluation, environmental planning and permitting, engineering and design, including collector stations, substations and grid interconnection, due diligence and transaction support.
