1. Mahindra XUV 400 electric
The XUV 400 electric SUV will soon be available in the Indian market thanks to Mahindra & Mahindra. The business declared that it would introduce an electric SUV in January 2023. Beginning in January 2023, customers can reserve the new Mahindra XUV400 online or at their local Mahindra dealership.
Initially, 16 cities will get access to the Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV, including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Goa, Jaipur, Surat, Nagpur, Trivandrum, Nashik, Chandigarh, and Kochi.
An IP 67 compliant 39.5 kWh battery pack and PSM motor, which together produce a maximum torque of 310 Nm and 149.5 PS at their peak, power the Mahindra XUV400. The electric SUV travels from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and has a top speed of 150 km/h. According to the firm, the Mahindra C-segment e-SUV has a range of 456 km on a single full charge using the Indian driving cycle (MIDC).
According to Mahindra, a 50kW DC fast charger can fully charge the battery from 0% to 80% in just 50 minutes. It takes 6 hours 30 minutes to charge a device using a 7.2 kW/32A outlet, compared to 13 hours using a typical household 3.3 kW/16A plug.
Arctic Blue, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black, and Infinity Blue are the five colour choices for the Mahindra XUV400. A dual-tone roof option with a Satin Copper finish is also available.
2. Hyundai IONIQ 5
IONIQ 5, Hyundai’s top-of-the-line electric vehicle, just made its premiere in India. The IONIQ 5 EV will be unveiled by the firm at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo. Customers may now submit their orders for the new EV by paying a nominal fee of Rs. 1 lakh.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is based on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), and it will be shipped completely knocked down (CKD) to India. The EV has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm and measures 4,635 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,625 mm in height.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5’s exterior includes 20-inch alloy wheels with an aerodynamic design, LED headlamps with DRLs, LED taillamps, flush door handles, shark-fin antennas, and an integrated spoiler.
Two battery options for the Ioniq 5 are available globally: 58 kWh and 72.6 kWh, each of which provides a range of up to 480 km (WLTP cycle).
A single electric motor that generates 350 nm of torque and 165 horsepower of power powers the standard model. Hyundai claims that the dual-motor version, which has 298 bhp of power and 605 nm of torque, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds. Hyundai will provide a larger battery pack with a rear-mounted electric motor and a 631 km ARAI-certified range in India.
3. MG Air EV
The MG Air EV, MG Motor India’s second electric vehicle, is about to hit the Indian market. Delhi Auto Expo will feature the MG Air EV. Speaking of the MG Air, it is a 2-door, 4-seater car that is actually a rebadged Wuling Air EV that is now being sold in Indonesia.
According to reports, MG will purchase the battery pack locally from Tata AutoComp in order to maintain a competitive price.
The Air EV is less than three metres long and has an LED strip that runs the length of the front end, dual barrel headlights that are stacked vertically, 12-inch steel wheels with stylish covers, and an LED bar at the back.
The MG Air’s interior boasts leather upholstery with silver and black accents to give it a more upscale appearance. The car also has an automatic parking brake, steering-mounted controls, 10.25-inch digital screens for the infotainment and cluster, and connected automobile technology.
There should be two battery pack choices for the MG Air. battery packs that are 17.3kWh and 26.7kWh. The variant with the smaller pack has a claimed range of 200km, whereas the larger battery gives a claimed range of 300km.
The electric motor that will be combined with the battery pack has a 38 horsepower output.
Regarding the price, it is anticipated that the EV will cost between Rs. 8 and Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
4. Citroen ëC3
Citroen India has affirmed that the C3 hatchback’s electric variant will be known as the “C3.” It will be the brand’s third model and first electric vehicle in India.
The launch of the electric hatch will happen sometime in early February 2023 after the hatch’s mid-January 2023 unveiling. The cost of the electrified version of the little hatchback is anticipated to be close to Rs. 10 lakh.
In relation to the C3 EV, the vehicle has lately been seen undergoing testing on Indian roads. The charging port appears to be covered by the disguised front fender of the spotted car. The EV will be modelled on the ICE C3 because of how similar the side profile and other design components are. To set itself apart from the standard model, Citroen is likely to make some glaring visual alterations.
Speaking of the powertrain and battery, it is anticipated to be supplied with a variety of battery alternatives, one of which being the global-spec 50kWh battery pack found in the Peugeot e-208, which is based on the same platform and has a WLTP-claimed range of over 350km. A 136 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque electric motor is anticipated to power the EV. It’s possible that the EV will also come with a smaller battery pack with a 300km-plus range.
5. Tata Punch EV
Tata Motors is prepared to introduce the Punch EV in 2023 following the launch of the Tiago EV. The introduction of the Punch EV may occur in September 2023, and Tata is anticipated to present it at the forthcoming Delhi Auto Expo.
The ALFA platform, which also supports the Altroz hatchback, will serve as the foundation for the Tata Punch EV. Additionally, it is anticipated that the Ziptron electric powertrain, which drives the Tiago and Tigor EV but with a larger power output, will power the Punch EV.
Regarding the battery, we anticipate Tata will provide the Punch EV with two battery pack choices: medium range and long range. To differentiate itself from competitors, Tata will also make various alterations to the appearance and internal components.
6. Tata Altroz EV
At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Tata debuted the luxury hatchback Altroz in an all-electric version. The ALFA platform, which can support electrification, serves as the foundation for the Tata Altroz EV. It’s anticipated that the electrified luxury hatchback will go on sale in 2023.

7. Skoda Enyaq EV

The Enyaq EV will be imported into India through the CBU method and is anticipated to receive an 82kWh battery with 125kW DC fast charging capabilities and a range of up to 513km.
The EV is equipped with two 265 horsepower dual electric motors, one on each axle, and an all-wheel drive system. To make the Enyaq iV more affordable, Skoda may also sell lower-end, two-wheel drive versions of the vehicle.
The Skoda Enyaq IV receives a motorised driver’s seat and a panoramic sunroof.
8. Volvo C40 Recharge
The business announced that it would introduce the C40 Recharge coupe SUV to the Indian market sometime in 2023 after launching the XC40 Recharge in that country.
Based on the XC40 Recharge, the C40 Recharge coupe electric SUV has an all-electric drivetrain and no ICE competitor. The second electric vehicle from Volvo in India will be the C40 Recharge.
The XC40 Recharge’s powerplant is used in the Volvo C40 Recharge as well. A 78-kWh battery powers a pair of electric motors that are mounted on the front and rear axles, respectively. The C40 Recharge, according to Volvo, has a range of about 420 kilometres. The electric motors have a power output of 408 bhp and a torque output of 660 Nm.
Volvo states that the battery can be charged from empty to 80% in 40 minutes and that it can enable rapid charging up to 150kW.
The Volvo C40 Recharge electric coupe SUV is now offered in three variations: Core, Plus, and Ultimate. The base model will be driven by a single electric motor that has a 231 horsepower power output.
9. Volkswagen ID.4
On Indian highways, a Volkswagen ID.4 electric SUV has been seen undergoing testing. The company’s modular Electric drive matrix (MEB) platform, which is made exclusively for electric vehicles, serves as the foundation for the car.
Regarding the SUV’s appearance, it has a sweeping shape that increases its aerodynamics and enables it to travel farther. The SUV has a front grille that is enclosed and has stylish LED headlamps. The ID.4 has connected wraparound taillights at the back.
The ID.4 that has been sighted in testing is the GTX version of the EV, which uses two electric motors to produce a maximum combined power of 299 PS with all-wheel drive. The 77 kWh battery pack that powers the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX gives it a 496 km range on a single full charge. The top speed of the electric SUV is 180 kmph.
10. BMW i7
The BMW i7 luxury electric sedan, which directly competes with the Mercedes Benz EQS, is the last vehicle on the list. The i7 was released in April 2022 and will soon be available in India.
BMW asserts that the new design language used by the 2023 BMW i7 is only intended for its premium products. The new 7 Series features a huge kidney grille, split headlamps with the main headlamps integrated into the front bumper, and top-mounted daytime running lights.
A twin-motor configuration that generates 536bhp of power and 745Nm of maximum torque will power the all-electric i7. The i7 has a 101.7 kWh battery pack that provides a claimed 625 kilometre range on a single charge.
