Energia Renewables progresses Drumlin Park construction – EQ Mag
Foundation bases at Co Monaghan project have been installed ahead of turbine delivery this summer
Irish developer Energia Renewables has completed all eight foundation turbine bases at its 50MW Drumlins Park Wind Farm in County Monaghan.
The outfit has partnered with US energy giant GE Renewable Energy to supply eight 6.1MW turbines with a tip height of 180 metres.
Once operational, the 48.8MW wind farm will generate enough green electricity to power around 34,000 homes and will support local initiatives through a dedicated community benefit fund. Energia’s head of construction Pat Tierney said: “This is a great achievement. It’s a huge boost for the Drumlins Park team to see all eight turbine bases complete – all thanks to their continued hard work and dedication.
“It wasn’t easy working through the winter months, when the changing weather conditions forced us to change our schedule and postpone concrete pours.
“Our focus now turns to the final preparations ahead of the turbine deliveries, which will start in the summer.”
