Albioma secures 12.1 MWp of solar in French tender – EQ Mag
French independent renewable energy producer Albioma SA (EPA:ABIO) has confirmed its award of solar projects totalling 12.2 MWp in a domestic tender for photovoltaic (PV) capacity in non-interconnected zones (ZNIs).
The French company said on Monday it is one of the companies with the highest volume of secured capacity. Its awards cover 19 projects, both ground-mounted and rooftop, in the French overseas territories – Reunion Island, Martinique, French Guiana and Guadeloupe. Albioma expects to commence construction activities on the projects next year.
Earlier in May, the French Ministry of Ecological Transition announced 89 winners in the sixth round of the solar ZNIs tender programme. The selected projects will add a combined power generation capacity of 49.8 MWp in Corsica and the overseas territories, some of it with storage. Albioma, majority-owned by a unit of US buyout firm KKR & Co Inc (NYSE:KKR), operates biomass and solar power plants in metropolitan and overseas France, Mauritius and Brazil, and also has geothermal facilities in Turkey.
