The fourth tender under the New South Wales (NSW) Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap has opened to registrations, AEMO Services, which runs the tenders as the NSW Consumer Trustee, announced on Tuesday.

The tender is seeking renewable generation projects located across the state, which are connecting to existing transmission and distribution infrastructure. It has an indicative size of 3,000 GWh.

Participants will compete for long-term energy service agreements (LTESAs), which provide insurance against future price risk.

AEMO Services said that access rights for the Central-West Orana renewable energy zone will not be released in the latest tender round to allow more time to review the feedback received from generation projects in the zone.

The deadline for registrations is December 3, and for project bids – December 10, 2023. According to the tender schedule, successful bids are expected to be announced in June 2024.
