In Details – The comapny anticipates a strategic reduction of approximately 19,000 tCO2e in carbon emissions. UFlex Limited has inked a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Amplus Phoenix Private Limited, a move aimed at sourcing renewable power under a group captive power policy. This initiative will see solar power supplied to UFlex’s Packaging Films manufacturing plant located in Dharwad, Karnataka. With a keen eye on achieving net zero emissions by 2035, or sooner, the comapny anticipates a strategic reduction of approximately 19,000 tCO2e in carbon emissions. The Dharwad facility, commissioned in Q2 of 2022, houses a cutting-edge packaging films plant equipped with a BOPET line, a CPP line, and plasma-enhanced high-barrier metallizers. With a combined capacity of 93,000 TPA, this facility adds to UFlex’s extensive global manufacturing network spanning across nine countries.

This agreement underscores UFlex’s unwavering commitment to embracing renewable energy for its operations and fostering a sustainable future. Aligned with the group’s captive power policy, this strategic pact is poised to significantly curb the company’s greenhouse gas emissions, aligning seamlessly with the company’s overarching sustainability vision. Apoorvshree Chaturvedi, Director of Global Operations at UFlex Group, emphasised the company’s decisive step towards reducing its carbon footprint and upholding its environmental stewardship commitment. He stressed the company’s robust energy optimisation transition strategy aimed at emission reduction, underscoring the belief that every corporation bears the responsibility of embracing sustainable practices for long-term business prosperity and environmental preservation.
