India Budget 2017 – Mr. Krishna Revankar of Solar PV Power Solution Expert Shares his Expectations
A. We observe the Roof Top systems( 40GW is the target by 2022) in the country is lagging as compered to Ground Mounted Power Plants(60 GW is the target by 2022)- main reasons for this is:
1. State’s Net Metering Policies are not Prospective in nature and LACKS a clear outlook.
2. Too many bureaucracy hurdles in the implementation. Many State’s Lack Single window Approach for approvals and clearance.
3. Most of the States lack Administrative WILL to implement committed Solar Purchase Obligation.
B. On the GST, on Solar PV Power System- there is a confusion. It shall either zero. This will facilitate Indian Solar Module Manufacturer will be on par with Chinese Supplier of PV Modules.
C. If we have a possibility of Depreciation benefit extended to Individuals for their investment on Solar PV system, it will incentivise the customer.
These are my views on present Solar Business in India which I expect the budget will address.
