The project will generate clean energy, contributing to reduced carbon emissions and supporting the nation’s shift towards sustainable power sources. In Detail : New Delhi, India, – SunSource Energy, a leading provider of solar energy solutions and a subsidiary of SHV Energy, a 127-year-old Dutch Multinational, announced the commissioning of a 21 MWp solar power plant in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu. This project, spanning 50 acres, marks SunSource Energy’s foray into the state and reinforces its commitment to expanding India’s clean energy landscape.

SunSource Energy has already tied up with leading Commercial & Industrial businesses for the entire 21 MWp capacity that includes renowned names from the Oil and Gas, Automotive, Metals and Mining, and FMCG sectors. The project is expected to generate approximately 760 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy and offset up to 700 million kilograms of CO2 emissions1 during its technical lifetime, which is the equivalent of planting approximately 7,00,000 trees.

Santanu Guha, CEO, SunSource Energy said, “We are pleased to commission our first plant in Tamil Nadu, one of the leading states for renewable energy in India. With Tamil Nadu playing host to various industries including Automobile, IT&ITES, Textiles, Manufacturing etc., this project is just the beginning for us in the state.
