In Short : REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has handed over the Tumkur-II Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Power Transmission project to the successful bidder. This project, part of India’s push for renewable energy infrastructure, involves the development and operation of transmission lines to support renewable energy generation in the Tumkur region. The handover marks a significant step in enhancing the region’s power transmission capacity for renewable energy sources.

In Detail : RECPDCL has handed over a project-specific special purpose vehicle (SPV) to GR Infraprojects Limited (GRIL) on Tuesday

New Delhi: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has handed over a project specific special purpose vehicle (SPV) viz, Tumkur-II REZ Power Transmission Limited to GR Infraprojects Limited (GRIL) on September 3 at Gurugram.

GRIL, which emerged as the transmission service provider (TSP), in a tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, for development of transmission project on build, own, operate & transfer (BOOT) basis.

The project covers establishment of 400/220 kV, 4X500 MVA pooling station near Tumkur, Karnataka and 27.2 Kms of 400 kV line along with associated works.

RECPDCL CEO TSC Bosh handed over the SPV to GRIL’s Head (Business Development & Strategy) Saurabh Kaushik in the presence of senior officials of RECPDCL, GRIL and Central Transmission Utility of India Limited. The project is targeted for implementation in 24 months.
