Private contract manufacturing company Zetwerk Manufacturing announced on Thursday that it has received a significant order from NTPC for the manufacturing and supply of 1,515 megawatt peak (MWp) solar photovoltaic (PV) modules, along with spare parts for the 1,200 MW Khavda Solar project in Gujarat.
The solar modules must be produced in India and comply with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), according to Zetwerk’s exchange filing. This order is reported to be four times larger than the previous contract secured from NTPC Renewables in 2023, with a delivery timeline of 210 days.
Zetwerk’s ALMM-compliant modules are in line with the Indian government’s initiative to bolster local manufacturing and decrease dependence on imports. The company aims to contribute to India’s energy independence and sustainable development goals, it said in its statement.
Zetwerk’s Energy Transition Business is diversified across various sectors, including renewable energy, solar PV module manufacturing, and battery solutions. The company employs over 450 personnel across multiple departments and maintains an in-house R&D team.
In addition to its operations in India, Zetwerk also produces products for the U.S. solar industry, offering solar piles, equipment, modules, among others.
