SJVN surpasses the MoU targets in power generation, says MD
The Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) has achieved generation of 9,045 million units from its three power plants during the financial year 2016-17, surpassing the MoU targets.
The mini Navratan central government undertaking had set a target of generating 8,700 million units of electricity, SJVN Chairman and Managing Director R N Misra said.
He said the countrys largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh achieved 103.5 per cent targets with a generation of 7,050.62 million units.
The downstream 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station in the state has also surpassed the targets by 110 million units with a generation of 1,960.36 million units, he added.
SJVNs 47.6 MW wind power station at Khirvire in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra has generated 34 million units of electricity.
Misra said due to its excellent financial performance, the company has declared the highest-ever interim dividend of Rs 930.74 crore at the rate of Rs 2.25 per share and has already been paid to the shareholders.
Government of India having 64.46 per cent equity holding in the company was paid Rs 599.99 crore, while the Government of Himachal Pradesh holding 25.51 per cent equity was paid dividend of Rs 237.38 crore.
General public holding 10.03 per cent received dividend of Rs 93.37 crore, he said.
He added that SJVN has now successfully ventured into the field of Solar Power Generation with the commissioning of 5 MW Charanka Solar Power Project in the state of Gujarat during financial year 2016-17.
