DNV GL issues project certificate for solar plant to WO Engineering
DNV GL, the world’s largest resource of independent energy experts and renewables certification body, has awarded Solar WO Engineering with project certification for its 6 MW solar plant Salzwedel. Independent certification of the solar plant ensures that all applicable grid connection requirements are met and that the necessary grid access license has been granted. The solar plant consists of 162 solar inverter feeding in medium voltage grid via 12 km AC cable and 4 low-medium voltage transformer.
“The project certificate for Solar WO Engineering is now the 20th out of more than 1100 certificates issued by DNV GL in line with the most recent revision of the German FGW Guideline TR8 that we have awarded to regenerative power plant operators, allowing them grid access,” explaines Bernd Hinzer, Head of Grid Code Compliance at DNV GL.
“Germany is regularly at the forefront of developments in green energy. And, to encourage the highest operational standards, the country is often first to introduce new regulations that are later replicated around the world”, explains Kim Moerk, Executive Vice President of Renewables Certification at DNV GL. “We support the efforts of Solar WO Engineering and other national and international renewable energy customers to meet constantly changing requirements, thus securing their grid access and contributing to the success of renewable energies.”
Torsten Oehme, Managing Director of Solar WO Engineering GmbH says: “DNV GL has now been a reliable partner for us for many years concerning certification of our projects in Germany. We will continue working closely together with the organisation to meet industry challenges as they arise.”
DNV GL has long been an issuer of project certificates and declarations of conformity required for grid access for renewable energy systems, including wind turbines, photovoltaic, co-generative heat and power stations and storage systems under such regulations as SDLWindV, BDEW, TC2007 and TR8, their respective revisions or the new VDE user regulations replacing the former.
