DNV GL supports governments and wind industry in growing offshore wind in Europe
Today leading energy ministers and captains of industry have joined forces for significant offshore wind volumes by 2030. This new statement, initiated by industry association WindEurope, follows an earlier declaration of nine governments in 2016. Since then significant progress has been made in offshore wind. The cost reduction target of 100 Euro/MWh by 2020 has been met ahead of time and winning bids of auctions in The Netherlands, Germany and Denmark delivered up to 48% cost reduction compared to two years ago. We are proud that DNV GL is part of this journey to support Europe’s road towards a sustainable energy provision. We will continue to support the wind industry by ensuring our customers can take well-informed decisions through our wind, grid certification and advisory services needed to build and accommodate large quantities of wind energy.
