Power electronics firm Ingeteam said it had supplied 23 of its 4.8MW power stations for the 125MW (DC) Clare Solar Farm project being built by Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV), located in the Australian state of Queensland.
Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) had used Ingeteam inverters at a previous power plant in the country, the 56MW Moree Solar Farm in Northern New South Wales.
Ingeteam supplied 1,500 VDC technology for the this Clare Solar Farm project, involving the supply of the company’s ‘INGECON’ SUN PowerMax central inverters, capable of producing a power output of up to 1,800kW with a single 1,500 VDC inverter.
Actually capable of 1,600kW, the system is supplied as a turnkey solution, comprising of three inverters housed in a 40 foot container, in addition to a power transformer, low voltage switchgear, medium voltage switchgear and auxiliary services panel.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2017 and is being constructed by the Australian EPC, Downer EDI. The plant has already been sold to Lighthouse Infrastructure and DIF.
The off-taker is Australian utility Origin Energy under a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA).
