Equis Energy commissions 29.5MW solar project in Fukushima, Japan

Equis Energy has commissioned a 29.5 MW solar project in Nihonmatsu City in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.

In Japan, Equis owns 40 projects comprising 0.9 GW and has a further 1.3 GW under development. At its regional headquarters in Tokyo and local offices in Shichinohe, Kasama and Fukushima, Equis employs over 60 professionals well‐versed in development, design, project management and investment.

Adam Ballin, Equis Board Director, said, “The contribution of solar energy to Japan’s energy mix over the past two years has increased dramatically, and rapid growth is expected to continue. Not only does our new solar power plant in Nihonmatsu provide low‐cost clean energy, but also it allows us to offer jobs to the local community.”

The Nihonmatsu project generates 33,925 MWh of energy per annum and on an annual basis, provides 6,431 households with electricity, saves 18,693 tons of CO2 as well as 32 million liters of water.
