Mahbubnagar gets 20 units of subsidised solar power packs
Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TSREDCO) has allocated 20 subsidised units of solar power packs to Mahbubnagar district. Revealing this, Venugopal, District Manager, TSREDCO said that solar power packs ranging from 1 to 3 kilowatt capacity have been allocated to Mahbubnagar.
According to Venugopal, the main objective of providing the subsidised solar packs was to promote the use of renewable energy sources among the general public. “At present, there is a huge burden on the conventional energy sources coal, kerosene, petrol and diesel.
Increased use of fossil fuels like coal and gas to generate thermal power is also directly impacting on our environment. Keeping all these in view, both the State and Central governments have embarked on promoting the solar energy. While they are providing 60 per cent subsidy, remaining 40 per cent has to be borne by the beneficiary,” informed Venugopal.
A unit of solar power pack with a capacity of 1 kilowatt per day will cost Rs 1.49 lakh. Of this, the Central government will bear a subsidy amounting to Rs 44,550, while the State government will bear a subsidy of Rs 45,000. For a unit of solar power pack with a capacity of 2 kilowatt costing Rs 2.7 lakh, the beneficiary has to shell out Rs 1.35 lakh, while the rest is given by the State and Central governments.
The third category of solar power pack with a capacity of 3 kilowatt power per day costs Rs 3.78 lakh. The Central government will pay 1.33 lakh, while the State will give a subsidy of Rs 45,000, the remaining amount will be borne by the beneficiary.
