The opportunity
This is a great opportunity to help one of Europe’s most successful solar asset management operations set up a new operations centre in Hyderabad, India.
The firm currently manages the assets of a huge European solar PV portfolio from centres in Italy and the UK and is now expanding to support clients locally in the Indian solar PV market.
The role
We are looking for an ambitious, hardworking, high calibre solar PV engineer with around 3-5 years’ experience in large scale (M.W size) solar PV to take a lead role in the provision of asset management services to Indian based solar PV projects.
You’ll be responsible for the technical optimisation of clients’ operational solar portfolios, so the role will involve lots of performance analysis and reporting, it’s mainly office based work with some requirement to visit sites when necessary.
You’ll liaise regularly with internal staff members as well as third party companies including the local JV partner and operations and maintenance providers.
You’ll have the full backing of a highly experienced international team in the UK, but initially you’ll be a key part of the small local team so the ability to work independently is important.
There will be plenty of opportunity to develop, accept more responsibility to hire additional team members and potentially even to manage the centre and the staff that work there.
You’ll very likely be required to visit the UK for initial induction and training.
About You
You’re a highly competent solar PV engineer with solid operational experience gained in solar asset management, large-scale solar system design, solar system monitoring or O&M.
If you’ve previously worked in the UK solar market, or for an international firm in the India solar sector, then that would be a real advantage.
You’re ambitious to develop your career in a technical and managerial capacity and happy to work hard to demonstrate your commitment.
As well as technical skills, it will be helpful to have strong commercial understanding too.
Essential
Absolute minimum 3+ years of large scale operational solar PV experience
BEng or Masters in Electrical or Renewable Energy Engineering (possibly Mechanical Engineering or similar)
IT Skills – MS Office; Excel, CRM
PVSyst and AutoCAD
Excellent communication skills
Eligible and able to work in Hyderabad, India and travel to sites in India and UK HQ
Superb English language skills
Desirable
Understanding of asset management processes
Commercial understanding of financial frameworks for solar, PPAs, incentives etc.
Previous experience working in the UK or European solar sector.
