9 HOMEGROWN ENERGY FIRMS MAKE TO ‘AHA SOLAR’ PLATFORM
Making good headway in terms of establishing solar power a household name in Jharkhand, the newly launched mobile application ‘Aha Solar’ for this very purpose has so far listed as many as nine firms belonging to the State. The domesticated solar power companies are in advantageous position when it comes to installation of rooftop solar power units in private and commercial premises locally.
The list of companies working in the field of the non-depleting energy source includes names of Abhishek Solar, Shyam Global Enterprises, Solar and Energy Saving Company, JREDA, Son-So Lite, Prikarma Power, Kamla Instruments, Nitish Powertech Pvt Limited and Multi Services Inc. The companies are accredited and certified under the guidelines set by the Ministry of New and Renewable Resources (MNRE) for installation of solar units at residential as well as commercial establishments.
“We have received an encouraging response from the entrepreneurs locally since we adopted ‘Aha Solar’ platform for helping common people willing to switch over to alternate and clean source of energy. These companies are available on the single mobile application platform. Anyone can select them as per his choice and get his premise evaluated along with cost and power generation capacity before going ahead with solar rooftop plant,” said Project Director with JREDA Arvind Kumar.
This apart, the JREDA has also furnished a list of 21 empanelled agencies for design, manufacture, testing, supply, installation and commissioning of grid connected rooftop SPV power plants of different capacities anywhere in the State of Jharkhand in which companies from outside have also figured into. At the same time, the vendors enrolled on ‘Aha Solar’ are looking positive based on the response of locals in getting plants installed is concerned. “We are expecting to install our first domestic rooftop solar plant within 15 days’ time once few issues with discom JBVNL are resolved. Shyam Global is getting good responses and queries from the areas such as Ranchi, Jamshedpur along with power starved regions like Palamu and Santhal Pargana about smaller solar plants,” said Shyam Global’s Marketing Manager Manoj Kumar.
As per the mechanism finalised, Rs 72,000 is the cost of grid connected power plant of one kw capacity of which 50 per cent is to be substituted by the Centre and the State combine in the form of subsidy.
“As of now, we have decided that a household can install solar power plant of the capacity equating his sanctioned load and not more than that. Entire system is going to be bi-directional with the help of net metering and a person’s monthly energy bill would be adjusted by JBVNL against the electricity uploaded to the grid. If any consumer constantly produces more solar power than he extracts from the grid then at the end of a year the discom would decide whether he be paid and on what rate,” said an official of the JBVNL.
An expert with JREDA quoting a study said that prime time for solar power generation in the State has been identified between 7 in the morning to 12 noon, though generation can go on till 3.30 in the evening.
