Army installs solar micro power grid for Baramulla villagers
Srinagar, Nov 18: Army today said that it installed a solar micro power grid in Paribal Tekri village of Rampora area of Baramulla district to overcome the power woes faced by local residents.
Rampora is one the remotest villages of Baramulla district and the State provided electricity is generally available from 3 to 4 hours only, everyday. Seeing the problems faced by the villagers, the army established the solar micro power grid to provide better quality of life to the villagers.
“The micro grid will provide electricity to 10 houses for upto eight hours everyday and can be expanded further,” a defence spokesman said. The project was inaugurated by Commander of Army’s Watlab Sector today wherein he also interacted with the villagers. The project is self-sustaining and has been implemented in a manner that the villagers themselves will be maintaining it, the defence spokesman said.
