HYDERABAD: Freyr Energy has signed an agreement with Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana (TSSPDCL) for the supply and installation of rooftop solar projects on their offices and substation buildings in Medak and Nalgonda districts.
The company will deploy 300kWp in Medak and 290kWp in Nalgonda, and expects the project to be completed within 12 months. Freyr has completed the survey of the allotted sites. It bagged the contract amidst competition from four energy companies.
Saurabh Marda, Co-founder, Freyr Energy in a statement said, “The Telangana government’s action taken in harnessing solar, and paving way for a cleaner world is commendable. It is a good move by TSSPDCL to first solarise its own buildings. This will help the public understand the importance of solar and will encourage them to solarise their premises as well.”
The Solar Policy Telangana announced in 2015 encourages private public investment and increasing grid and off-grid solar applications using all possible technologies along with effective energy conservation measures.
Freyr Energy has now completed more than 5.5 MW projects out of the cumulative installed capacity of 1.5 GW in rooftop segment, and have several ongoing projects across the country.
