Greenlight Planet & OPIC Partnering To Expand Access To Off-Grid Power

Amitesh Sinha, CFO, Greenlight Planet; Anish Thakkar, CEO, Greenlight Planet; Loren Rodwin, Managing Director of Small & Medium Enterprise Finance, OPIC; and Thomas Vajda, Counsel General, U.S. Consulate in Mumbai at a signing ceremony formalizing a partnership to expand off-grid energy access in the developing world. Greenlight Planet is introducing affordable solar lighting and phone charging devices to communities living off the electric grid in emerging markets throughout Asia, Africa, and Latin America. OPIC has agreed to provide $5 million in financing to help Greenlight expand its reach.
