22 MW aleo modules for solar park in the Philippines / independent study attests to aleo module “bankability”
aleo solar GmbH has supplied around 76,000 high-performance modules for the Sepalco solar park in the Philippines. The 22MW project on the central Philippine island of Leyte incorporates aleo monocrystalline modules manufactured at the factory in Germany. The solar park, which is one of the world’s largest solar parks in which modules with CELCO technology are used, will be connected to the grid in March 2016.
The Sepalco project near the town of Palo has a total capacity of 50 MW and was built by SAS Sunrise, a subsidiary of Sino-American Silicon Products Inc. (SAS). In addition to aleo solar with their manufacturing facilities in Prenzlau (Brandenburg Germany), modules were also supplied by the SAS subsidiary Sunrise Global Solar Energy. With the Philippine Department of Energy, an energy delivery contract has been agreed providing the operator with an excellent feed in tariff return for more than twenty years. The Sepalco project is forecast to provide a yield of around 71 gigawatt hours per year.
Through the intensified expansion of its photovoltaic capacity, the Philippines is currently reducing its heavy dependence on imported fuels. SAS Sunrise sees Sepalco as a starting point to further reduce the production cost of solar electricity on solar parks in Asia, Africa and Latin America. In the Philippines, often affected by typhoons, the robust aleo modules are particularly suitable. The50 mm thick frame is extremely rigid with a load capacity of 5,400 Pascal to keep the premium modules in place in even the harshest conditions.
The predominantly debt-financed Sepalco project shows that the high efficiency aleo modules are competitive even with large projects. “Reliability, durability and the guarantees of aleo modules provide investors a high level of security,” says William Chen, Chief Sales Officer of aleo solar. The bankability of aleo modules has also been confirmed by a recent study by SgurrEnergy: After a detailed inspection, the highly automated production of aleo solar with central process steps was seen as a market leading. The study says that aleo solar is ahead of other manufacturers concerning tabbing and stringing of high quality cells and the comprehensive in-line inspections; warranty conditions are also above the industry standards. In accordance with the specialist SgurrEnergy renewable energy engineers, aleo solar met all relevant industry standards in its manufacturing processes being regarded as a best practice example for the photovoltaic industry.
