The airport will be modernized in partnership with Bharat Electronics Limited.
New Delhi: AAI’s Bhubaneswar Airport is all set to become a world-class green and carbon-neutral airport. Bhubaneswar Airport has been chosen as the first airport in the country to have indigenous, cost-effective, and environment-friendly air traffic management systems.
In compliance with Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives, the airport will be modernized in partnership with Bharat Electronics Limited.
The terminal building of the airport is energy efficient and a 4 MW solar power plant has already been installed.
Biju Patnaik Airport serves as one of the major civil aviation hubs in Eastern India. The airport boasts two active scheduled passenger terminals i.e. Terminals 1 and 2 for domestic and international passengers respectively.
