ACME Solar commissions additional 90 MW solar power capacity in Rajasthan – EQ
In Short : ACME Solar has successfully commissioned an additional 90 MW of solar power capacity in Rajasthan, further strengthening its position in India’s renewable energy sector. This expansion is part of ACME’s ongoing efforts to enhance solar power generation across the country. The new capacity will contribute to Rajasthan’s renewable energy goals and support India’s transition to cleaner energy sources.
In Detail : Renewable energy firm ACME Solar Holdings Ltd (ASHL) on Wednesday (January 8) said it has successfully commissioned an additional 90 MW of solar power capacity in Rajasthan, bringing its total operational renewable generation capacity to 2,453 MW.
“…this is to inform you that ACME Solar Holdings Limited (ASHL), through its wholly owned subsidiaries viz. ACME Dhaulpur Powertech Private Limited and ACME Raisar Solar Energy Private Limited, have commissioned the remaining capacity of 62 MW and 28 MW, respectively, on January 07, 2025,” ACME Solar Holdings said in a regulatory filing.
The additional capacity comprises 62 MW from ACME Dhaulpur Powertech Private Ltd and 28 MW from ACME Raisar Solar Energy Private Ltd, both of which were commissioned on January 7, 2025. These two plants are now fully operational with a rated capacity of 300 MW each.
This milestone follows ASHL’s previous announcement on December 19, 2024, regarding the commissioning of 1,023.05 MW of solar power projects in Rajasthan by its wholly-owned subsidiaries.
Last year in December, ACME Solar Holdings Ltd said it had secured ₹1,988 crore in financing from Power Finance Corporation (PFC) for a 300 MW solar-wind hybrid renewable energy project.
This hybrid project will integrate solar capacity in Bikaner, Rajasthan, and wind power generation in Bhuj, Gujarat. With a power purchase agreement (PPA) signed with NTPC, grid connectivity in place, and land fully procured for the solar component, the project is expected to commence operations before June 2025.
Separately, ACME Solar has been awarded a 300 MW solar power project under the SECI-ISTS XVIII scheme at a tariff of ₹3.05 per unit. To fulfil this bid, the company plans to reallocate its under-construction ACME Sikar project in Rajasthan, leveraging existing grid infrastructure in Bikaner-2.
