First program of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that focuses on training females in the renewable energy and water fields

First batch will include 60 female trainees in the disciplines of water and mechanical maintenance
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia : ACWA Power, a leading Saudi developer, investor, and operator of power generation, water desalination and green hydrogen plants worldwide, in partnership with its vocational institute the Higher Institute for Water and Power Technologies (HIWPT), launched the all-new “Renewable Energy and Occupational Safety” Program as part of the institute’s curriculum. The groundbreaking program is the first of its kind in the Kingdom and focuses on training women in technical disciplines related to renewable energy and water. The first batch within the program will include 60 female trainees in the fields of water and mechanical maintenance.
Supported by Saudi Human Resources Development Fund, the program reinforces the private sector’s participation in driving Saudization. HIWPT cultivates and pushes the potential of its graduates to allow them to compete and participate in the Kingdom’s rapid growth; and the program is part of the Institute’s strategy to adopt promising trends and focus on what serves the future generations of local talents through expansion and diversity in training, and meeting the needs of the water and energy sector.
