Adar Poonawalla-backed homiHydrogen to set up 1.5-GW electrolyser manufacturing facility – EQ Mag
homiHydrogen – a joint venture between h2e Power, BlueBasic AMA Engineering, and Greenstat Hydrogen India – on Friday said it will set up a electrolyser manufacturing facility having 1.5 gigawatt (GW) per annum capacity in India for domestic and export markets.
The project is budgeted at $50 million and is expected to create about 300 green new jobs. The venture will manufacture all four types of electrolysers – alkaline, AEM, PEM and SOE – in India, according to the official press release.
It said that homiHydrogen will start production in 2023 and will deliver a 100 per cent ‘Made in India’ product.
“HomiHydrogen stands unique with its focus not only on electrolysers but also critical components like rectifiers, transformers, R&D, and last mile solutions. The name homiHydrogen is a tribute to the great Indian Scientist Homi Jehangir Bhabha,” said Siddharth R Mayur, founder and managing director, h2e Power, a Pune-based green hydrogen company which is also part of the Poonawalla Group.
The company has also announced its association with OIL India, the nation’s second-largest national oil and gas explorer, to build an effective green hydrogen value chain in the country.
Greenstat Hydrogen India is a part of The Greenstat Group, a Norwegian green energy company. Bengaluru-based BlueBasic AMA Engineering is an Indian subsidiary of the parent Italian company, BlueBasic Srl. It specialises in the manufacture of skid-mounted production units of AdBlue in the automotive sector and manufactures cryogenic containerised solutions.
