Advanced technology-based workshop on renewable energy
KALAIGAON, Oct 7 – A two-day workshop on advanced technology-based renewable energy was inaugurated at Arunodoi Junior College, Tangla on October 6. The advance technology based workshop was organised by Arunodoi Junior College and Arunodoi Academy, Tangla for school students of Udalguri district in association with Utkranti NSSC, IIT, Kharagpur.One hundred and fifty students from various schools of the district participated in the science activities which will continue till October 7. The workshop was conducted by Rajib Ranjan, a specialist on renewable energy and embedded system and Avinash Bhat, specialist on embedded system.
The workshop was inaugurated by Napoleon Daimari, principal, Arunodoi Academy, Tangla at 10 am. It needs mention here that this has been the first-ever hi-tech advance science workshop organised at Tangla for school children.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajib Ranjan mentioned that 94 per cent of solar energy has been wasted without any use and it’s time people of the world start using solar or other renewable energies as the sources of petroleum and coal etc., would be exhausted by 2040.
Several distinguished people, namely, Jayanta Das, District Coordinator, Aryabhatta Science Centres (ASTEC), Udalguri; Pranabjyoti Das, Principal, Arunodoi Junior College, Tangla etc., attended the inaugural session. Students of AA Tangla, namely, Alfred Rabha, Nishanjyoti Das, Chanakya Bhumij, Manasjyoti Boro, Jitumoni Nath, Aayurshree Misra, Meghali Sarania, Labhita Rabha and Nishanta Kashyap have qualified to participate in the national-level science competition, organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology to be held in New Delhi in December, 2017.
