WASHINGTON: Joseph R. Biden and Kamala D. Harris have been elected as the next president and vice president of the United States, ushering in a major shift for U.S. domestic policy and the world. The Biden-Harris ticket made climate action a core pillar of their campaign.
President-elect Biden has put forward an ambitious climate agenda, including a pledge to re-enter the Paris Agreement on day one of his presidency and a vision to shift the U.S. to a zero-carbon economy. Exit polls show that this is what the majority of Americans want.
