AES Announces Public Offering of $500 Million of Senior Notes
The AES Corporation (NYSE:AES) announced today that it intends, subject to market and other conditions, to offer $500 million aggregate principal amount of senior notes due 2027 (the “Notes”). AES intends to use the net proceeds from the offering of the Notes to fund the concurrent tender offer announced today to purchase AES’ outstanding 8.00% senior notes due 2020 and to pay certain related fees and expenses. AES intends to use any remaining net proceeds from this offering after completion of the tender offer to retire certain of its outstanding indebtedness.
