Amara Raja Batteries manufacturing at near 100 percent capacity utilisation

Amara Raja Batteries’ manufacturing facilities had reached nearly 100 percent capacity utilisation in order to keep up with the rising demand.
The company registered 35 percent Y-o-Y growth in inverters and 40 percent growth in two watt batteries, driven by 110 percent growth in OEMs and 15 percent in the replacement market. Four-wheeler batteries registered four percent growth on 11 percent growth in the replacement business.
Exports of automotive batteries and industrial batteries also saw an upsurge as markets across geographies opened up.
The capex was at Rs 450-500 crore for FY21, (earlier guidance of Rs 400 crore) as the company expanded four watt (two million units) and two watt (two–three million units) capacities.
