In Short : Amplus Solar, a leading renewable energy company, is set to introduce distributed green hydrogen projects. This initiative marks a significant step towards harnessing hydrogen as a clean energy source.

In Detail : Amplus Solar aims to launch distributed green hydrogen projects by next year, as shared by CEO and MD Sharad Pungalia. The company, based in Gurugram and a member of Malaysia’s Gentari Group, currently manages over 1.9 GW of operational and under-construction distributed solar assets in India.

Pungalia outlined a vision to extend the company’s successful rooftop solar model to green hydrogen. By leveraging existing customer relationships and rooftop solar installations, Amplus plans to integrate electrolysers on customer premises for hydrogen production.

Customers with a demand for distributed green hydrogen will benefit from the setup of these electrolysers. Amplus Solar plans to continue supplying green electricity while providing green hydrogen on-site, ensuring a seamless transition to low-carbon energy solutions.

The company will source electrolysers from third-party suppliers, much like its approach with solar panels. Amplus Solar remains focused on project development, not manufacturing equipment, and aims to provide customers with comprehensive, sustainable energy solutions.

By next year, the company intends to offer distributed green hydrogen projects to complement its solar power offerings, thereby expanding its portfolio and meeting the evolving needs of industrial and commercial clients.
