Aquila buys Tyrinselka wind complex in Finland – EQ Mag Pro
Operational portfolio was sold by Pohjoistuuli and its partners
Finnish company Pohjoistuuli and partners have sold the operational Tyrinselka wind farm portfolio in Finland to Aquila Capital for an undisclosed price.
The portfolio partly benefits from the Finnish feed-in-premium system and also has a portion of its output sold under a 10-year power purchase agreement with a local municipality utility.
Pohjoistuuli developed and built the wind farms and will continue to operate the projects for Aquila.
Megatuuli helped with securing land plots and permitting at the start of the development process.
Newsec Infra advised Pohjoistuuli and partners on the sale.
Pohjoistuuli co-founder Andrej Srsen said: “It was fascinating to see the wind farms to gradually pop up on the Finnish countryside during the last couple of years and help the local community with securing green electricity.
“We were approached during the wind farm operation phase by Aquila who convinced us that they can provide the wind farms with continued highly professional owner support.
“We are also happy that we have agreed with them to operate the wind farms for them.”
Newsec Infra managing partner Omid Ashrafi said: “The continued energy transition and increasing need for energy independence calls for more renewable energy and Newsec Infra is proud to continue supporting the addition of green energy in the Finnish energy mix.
“We would like to thank the parties for the hard work and collaborative approach that made this transaction possible.”
