Balaje Rajan to join Tata Motors as chief strategy officer – EQ Mag

Balaje Rajan will join Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle business as a chief strategy officer and head of international operations, people aware of the appointment said. A A Tata Motors spokesperson confirmed that he would join next month.
Rajan is currently the practice head of automotive and engineering with Tata Strategic Management Group since October 2017. He will report to Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director – Tata Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM) and will be responsible for the strategy function. Both internal combustion engine and electric vehicle business.
In addition, he will also prepare a plan to take Tata Motors sees the company electrification trend in international markets as an opportunity to explore some mature markets as well of Balaje.
The appointment comes at a time when Tata Motors’ EV unit plans to launch multiple EV models over the next few years to maintain its leadership position in the e-passenger vehicle market, while ICE is at the forefront of the business, where It is firmly established. Its position as the third largest PV manufacturer.
