Belagavi district to have 75 EV charging stations soon under PPP model – EQ Mag Pro
BESCOM is seeking proposals from interested agencies for SETTING UP EV CHARGING STATIONS AT GOVERNMENT OWNED LOCATIONS IN BELAGAVI DISTRICT UNDER HESCOM JURISDICTION UNDER PPP MODEL.
The Government of Karnataka issued the Karnataka Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage Policy 2017 (Government Order No: CI 117 SPI 2017, Bengaluru dated 25.09.2017) which envisages a compelling vision of making Benguluru the Electric Vehicle Capital of India besides attracting investment to the tune of INR 31,000 crore and creating 55,000 new jobs by 2022.
In the GoK Budget for Financial Year 2021-22 presented by the Hon’ble Chief Minister on 8th March 2021, it is proposed to set-up more than 1000 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS) across the state of Karnataka through Public-Private-Partnership (PPP).
Providing accessible EV Charging facilities in all the districts across the HESCOM jurisdiction of Karnataka is the key objective of this RFP. For this, bidders are invited to set up EV charging stations at 75 Locations.
Charging Station installed at each location is termed as a Public Charging Station (PCS). A PCS should have a minimum number of fast and slow chargers. Additionally, bidder is at liberty to install more EVSEs based on space availability and demand. Further, maximum of 01 no. of Battery Swapping Facility / Kiosk can be installed which is an option based on the demand / requirement.
Over and above the mandated slow and moderate/fast PCS, the Concessionaire can install any combination of AC or DC chargers that meet the standards defined by per Ministry of Power.
